Palimpsestic Poetics in Orfeo: What A Book Might Do to a Body

Replace "domus" with "patria" and you get an interesting parallel reading in the poem that is about nationality (the Britain in England, the anxiety of classical influence, the possibility that history will to-rente its subjects) more than domesticity -- and that emphasizes how inseparable the two are.
